Membership of the Glamorganshire Golf Club

Glamorganshire Golf Club is a Members’ Club with a very active membership, many of whom participate in regular Club competitions throughout the year.

The Men’s, Ladies, Veterans, Juniors, Wayfarers and Halletts teams have a full schedule of fixtures and, with our popular Winter League and the various in-Club social golfing groups, players of all standards can be accommodated.

There is also a varied social calendar the year round.

We welcome applications for Membership whether via introduction by existing Members or, if you don’t know anyone at the Glamorganshire, please contact the Secretary/Manager directly.

There are vacancies in all categories and there is STILL NO ENTRANCE FEE.

*All members aged between 18 and 79 are invoiced an additional £50 which is credited to their bar cards.

*Members wishing to pay monthly by direct debit are charged an administration fee of £20.

Subscriptions may be paid in a number of ways:-



Credit/debit card

Direct debit (an admin fee of £20 per person is charged and added to the subscription).

The Club operates a Bar Card facility which allows members a 10% discount on all drinks purchased over the bar. All new members are expected to open a bar card account with an initial deposit of £50.


Spring Snakes & Ladders – Week 1 Sunday 12th January


Snakes and Ladders

Played over 10 weeks commencing Sunday 12th January until Sunday 16th March.

Snakes Supper held on Friday 4th April 2014.

Snakes & Ladders have been regularly played each Sunday 10 weeks before Christmas and 10 weeks after. Play in one or both. The first official reference in Club records was in 1956 although the competition was being played prior to that time.

Shotgun start at 9am. Played in foursomes (alternative shot),

1) Name your partner, combined handicap minimum 20.
2) Same partner cannot be used Autumn and Spring.
3) Four substitutes only can be used.
4) Substitutes cannot play as a pair (except with Chief Snake approval)
5) Only Snakers who have played can attend the supper
6) Juniors with handicaps 18 or under can play as substitutes but cannot attend the supper
